URI Drug Transporters Workshop Presentations

The University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy’s 5th Annual Transporters in Drug Discovery and Development: Driving Knowledge from Laboratory to Label (TDDD 2017) was held last week in Kingston, RI. TDDD is an annual, intensive, three-day training course delivering current knowledge about drug transporters with industry perspective.

As part of this year’s workshop, XenoTech held a hands-on hepatocyte workshop. If you would like a copy of the slides that were presented at the workshop, you can request them here. We additionally have our protocol on our hepatocyte pages and hepatocyte demo videos on our media page.

Dr. Brian Ogilvie also presented on the “Importance of OCT1 on Drug Disposition: Sumatriptan as a Case Study.” However, we do not recommend requesting the slides from this presentation, as the slides will only really make sense if you attended the first two days of the workshop or have read extensively on the ECCS. Also, it was intended to be short and was followed by a 20+ minute discussion that the slides do not capture. Instead, Dr. Ayman El-Kattan and Dr. Ogilvie are planning on co-presenting a more in-depth webinar on the subject in the near future, so we recommend pre-registering to receive details on this event as they become available if you are interested in this subject.
